The Daily Chronicle’s NIE program was developed to help teachers, students and parents use the newspaper as a learning tool.

By underwriting NIE and partnering with local sponsors, the Daily Chronicle supports developing smart, discerning readers, and future community leaders.

Teachers: Our goal is to help you get newspapers into your classroom and provide you with curriculum and activities to assist you in using the newspaper as an educational tool.

Parents: We want to help you develop your child into an educated, community-minded citizen. Reading the newspaper at home and using it in the newspaper stimulates discussions and develops critical thinking.

Students: We want you to learn to read, to read well and enjoy reading. We want to provide you with engaging stories and informative content. Reading the newspaper enhances your knowledge of local, state and national events.

We want to make our NIE program the best it can be. Suggestions for topics and content are greatly appreciated.
